Three good friends (Chi Lam, Andy and Jordan) got into trouble one night
when a woman (called Angel Yu) they 'flirted' with fell down a few storeys
and got badly injured. They were charged when Angel told the police that
they raped her, which wasn't true. She was very upset because her husband
had a mistress in China, so she went drinking and met these 3 guys. She
accidentally fell out of the balcony in the middle of the night, and wasn't
pushed by any of the 3 guys at all. However, as police were questioning
her in front of her family members, she didn't want to disgrace herself
(for saying that she slept with men), so she said that she was raped.
This led to the rape charges against the 3 innocent men.
Cheung Pak Seung was a doctor, but got fired from the hospital half way through the trial. Andy Hui acts as a part-time 'care-leh-fare' actor who is always down on his luck when it comes to getting roles. Jordan Chan was a property agent who was declared bankrupt because of the court case. Lau Ching Wan is the lawyer hired to defend the 3 men. Because each wanted to get themselves out of trouble, they framed the other 2 to save themselves. Their friendship was affected of course. This story is quite an interesting one - the way the court case was fought. Also, it is a story on friendship, a test of the 3 men's relationship. Worth watching. (ML) |

Fan's Review JC - Even for a weaker effort from UFO, this film still surpass a lot of the recent films. It's about three guys who hooked up with this woman at a club, slept with her, and ended up getting arrested for rape. It's kinda like the plot from Disclosure, in a way. Lau Ching Wan, Andy Hui Chi On, and Jordan Chan Siu Chun continue to shine under UFO; Julian Cheung Chi Lam is even more stiff here than he was in TVB's Legend of Condor Heroes 1994, though his character calls for it. JMF - Starts off really strong, but then degenerates into a typical courtroom drama. If the film had concentrated more on how the accusations affected the friendship of the three buddies and less on lawyer Lau Ching-Wan, it would have been a much better movie. Nevertheless, the superb acting and first hour of the movie make it worth recommending. |
